Sapulpa was a glass and oil town just southwest of Tulsa in the early 1920s, sitting on top of the Glenn Pool field that had launched the Oklahoma petroleum boom. The Sappers (a nickname rooted in the soldier's term for combat engineers, often borrowed by oilfield crews) became a charter member of the Class D Southwestern League in 1921 and finished 68-76 in fifth place under managers Jerry Jones and Larry Quigley. The club bounced back to capture the 1922 Southwestern Association championship the following year. The franchise folded shortly after, and Sapulpa was left without affiliated professional baseball.

The Details:
Cream-on-brown two-tone print built around an illustration of an overall-clad working-man batter, his bat shouldered and a small "S" stitched on his apron. The full inscription reads "SAPULPA, OKLA.," "Sappers," "ESTD. 1921," "SOUTHWESTERN LEAGUE," "CLASS D," and "BASEBALL," with the team name in a heavily distressed cream script and a sweeping underline. The print carries a deeply weathered, dust-bowl vintage texture.
