Smithfield's Blue Sox took the field in 1921 as part of the Northern Utah League, a Class D minor league club in Cache Valley. Small-town baseball in rural Utah meant the whole community showed up. Teams like these gave places like Smithfield something to rally around long before television arrived.
Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
The Details:
Distressed light-blue rounded text reads "Blue Sox Baseball" above bold block numerals "1921," with a cartoon anthropomorphic blue sock character in a batting stance gripping a bat beside a small golden star. Clean white serif text below reads "Northern Utah League | Class D" and "Smithfield, Utah," followed by a small golden chevron ornament.
