The Saxony rose on Collins Avenue in 1948 and quickly became the crown jewel of Miami Beach's postwar resort boom. Stretching from 32nd to 33rd Street on the ocean, it drew the era's biggest entertainers and high society crowds. Two decades of glamour helped define what a luxury beach hotel could be.
