Desert Air Hotel and Cottages offered something rare in Palm Springs, California, during the 1950s. Guests could fly into the Palm Desert Airpark or drive in and be poolside within minutes. A place built for the postwar generation that believed private aviation and desert sunshine were basic necessities.
