Doric Surf Rider Inn stood at 1700 Ocean Avenue in Santa Monica, a midcentury coastal motor lodge steps from the Pacific. Built during the 1950s boom of beachside travel, it welcomed surfers and vacationers drawn to Southern California's endless summer promise.
