Tucson's Lizards took the diamond in 1932, playing in the Arizona-Texas League during the dust and heat of Depression-era desert baseball. Minor league clubs like this one gave small Southwestern towns something to believe in when times were hardest. Some franchises are forgotten by the record books but never by the towns that loved them. Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
