San Diego's Aces took the field in 1929 as part of the California State League, representing a city still decades away from major league ball. They belonged to an era when small-league teams were the soul of local pride. Before the Padres, clubs like the Aces gave San Diego its first real claim to the diamond. Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
