West Palm Beach fielded the Sheriffs in the Florida State League starting in 1928, bringing Class D baseball to a city still buzzing from the land boom. Small town minor league clubs like this one were the backbone of organized baseball. Coastal communities found a sense of pride here long before spring training made South Florida famous. Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
