Zombie Hut was Sacramento's answer to the tiki craze sweeping American bar culture in the 1960s. Exotic cocktails and Polynesian fantasy offered pure escapism from the ordinary. Places like this became neighborhood gathering spots where the real world dissolved behind bamboo walls and carved masks.
