Cleveland's Bearcats took the field in 1914, part of a wave of independent and semi-pro clubs that defined Ohio baseball beyond the major leagues. In a city already devoted to the game, these smaller teams gave working neighborhoods their own squads to rally behind. They carried Cleveland's fierce baseball identity at the grassroots level. Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
