Tur Mai Kai stood as Kalamazoo's gateway to Polynesian escapism during the mid-century tiki craze of the 1950s and 1960s. Exotic cocktails and tropical atmosphere transported Michigan patrons thousands of miles from the Midwest. Places like this carried the promise that paradise could be found on any Main Street in America. Part of our Vintage Tiki collection, celebrating the defunct golden era bars of yesteryear.
