Brockton's Shoemakers took the field in 1914 as part of the Colonial League's Class C circuit. Named for the Massachusetts city's thriving boot and shoe factories, the team carried an industrial identity onto the diamond. Small-town baseball gave working communities a source of local pride during an era when the game still belonged to places like Brockton. Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
