Fort Lauderdale's Tarpons joined the Florida State League in 1928, bringing organized baseball to South Florida's coast. During an era when small-town ball clubs were the soul of their communities, the Tarpons gave Fort Lauderdale something to rally around on warm summer nights.
Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
