Leesburg's Anglers took the field in 1938 as part of Florida's Class D Florida State League. Nestled among lakes and citrus groves, the small inland town finally had organized baseball to call its own. Minor league clubs like these gave communities something to rally around on warm summer nights. Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
