The Kahiki opened its bamboo doors in Columbus in 1961, transforming into America's largest Polynesian restaurant and an authentic slice of tiki paradise in the heart of Ohio. For nearly four decades, this sprawling supper club transported diners from the Midwest plains to a tropical wonderland complete with thunderstorms, flowing lava, and exotic cocktails served in ceramic mugs. The establishment became a beloved institution, drawing families and tiki enthusiasts from across the region until its closure in 2000, leaving behind a legacy as one of the most elaborate and authentic tiki experiences ever created outside of Hawaii. Part of our Vintage Tiki collection, celebrating the defunct golden era bars of yesteryear.
The Details:
White ink design featuring bold sans-serif "Kahiki" lettering paired with elegant script text reading "World's Most Beautiful Polynesian Supper Club" and "Columbus, Ohio." The centerpiece displays a stylized tiki mask with angular geometric features, carved-style linework, and traditional Polynesian totem aesthetics. The monochromatic white-on-black treatment creates sharp contrast with vintage mid-century restaurant signage appeal.
