Nevada's Lunatics played Class D ball in the Missouri Valley League starting in 1901, representing a small southwest Missouri town with outsized ambition. Minor league baseball in that era was the lifeblood of rural communities. Teams like the Lunatics gave places like Nevada, Missouri a name beyond the county line and a reason to gather on summer evenings. Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
The Details:
Arched distressed crimson block text reads "NEVADA" above flowing script reading "Lunatics" with a tail swoosh. A crimson outline of Missouri with a small star marking a location sits between "ESTD" and "1901" in bold serif numerals. Smaller crimson serif text reads "Missouri Valley League" above "Class D Baseball Club."
