Portland's Pine Tree Capers took the field in 1907 as part of the Maine State League, carrying the spirit of small-town baseball through northern summers. Maine's port city supported local clubs long before the majors cast their shadow. Teams like the Capers gave working families something to rally around every summer.
Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
