Salem's Rebels took the field in 1955 as a Carolina League Class A club nestled in western Virginia's Blue Ridge foothills. A small city with an outsized appetite for baseball, Salem poured its identity into that ballpark. Generations of families grew up measuring summers by the crack of the bat. Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
The Details:
Arched distressed white text reads "SALEM, VIRGINIA" across the top. Below, large white Western-style text reads "REBELS" flanking a cartoon rebel mascot in a wide-brimmed hat with a curled white mustache, orange nose, and pointed goatee. Red stars, blue script reading "Established 1955," white block text "CLASS A BASEBALL," and red script "Carolina League" fill the lower portion.
