Hamburger Hamlet opened in 1950 on Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood, becoming a gathering place for Hollywood's creative class for decades. Actors, writers, and deal-makers filled its booths long before the Strip became what it is today. Some restaurants feed a neighborhood, and some become the neighborhood. The Details:
White laurel wreath crest encircles interlocking golden-tan serif monogram letters "HH" with "ESTD" and "1950" flanking the emblem. White serif text below reads "HAMBURGER HAMLET" in large block letters. Smaller golden-tan text reads "8931 SUNSET BOULEVARD • WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA" at the bottom.
