Baltimore's Terrapins joined the upstart Federal League in 1914, daring to challenge professional baseball's established order. Two seasons gave the city a major league club and a real fight against the baseball monopoly. Their lawsuit after the league folded reached the Supreme Court, reshaping the sport's legal future for decades.
