Norfolk's Jewels brought organized baseball to the Virginia coast when they joined the Atlantic League in 1897. Minor league ball in that era meant everything to a city like Norfolk, binding dockworkers and shopkeepers around a shared identity. Clubs like the Jewels gave small cities a place on the national map long before television changed the game forever. Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
The Details:
Distressed white arched outlined block text reads "NORFOLK" above smaller serif text reading "Virginia," with "EST." to the left and "1897" to the right.
