Charleston's Seagulls took the diamond in 1886 as part of the Southern League, carrying the pride of South Carolina's Lowcountry through the early days of organized minor league ball. Class B baseball meant everything to cities like Charleston then. Before radio, before television, these clubs were the communal heartbeat of a town. Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
