The Lafayette Maroons stepped onto the Indiana baseball scene in 1909, representing the city’s early passion for America’s pastime. Competing with grit and determination, the Maroons carried the classic small-town spirit that defined early Midwestern minor league baseball and set the stage for Lafayette’s later teams.
