Lindy's Steak and Chop House stood at the corner of Wilshire and Hobart in Los Angeles, serving Kansas City corn-fed beef when a proper steakhouse meant something. Operating through the mid-twentieth century, it represented a time when dining out carried weight and occasion. Places like Lindy's didn't just feed a neighborhood, they anchored it.
