Lufkin's Foresters brought Class C baseball to the piney woods of East Texas starting in 1947, competing in the Lone Star League. Deep in timber country, the club gave a small mill town something to rally around on warm summer nights. Some teams represent a city, but the Foresters represented a way of life. Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
The Details:
A distressed sage-green cartoon leaf character with an angry expression grips a baseball bat in a batting stance above flowing script reading "Foresters" with a sweeping tail underline. Smaller block text below reads "CLASS C BASEBALL CLUB." Large outlined block numbers read "EST. 1947" beside stacked text reading "LUFKIN, TX," a small star, and "LONE STAR LEAGUE."
