Tail o' the Cock was a Los Angeles landmark from the 1940s through 1987, holding court on both Ventura Blvd. and La Cienega near Wilshire. Hollywood's elite gathered there for decades, making it one of the city's most beloved dining rooms. Some restaurants feed a neighborhood, but this one fed an era. Part of our Vintage Restaurant collection, celebrating the classic American menus of yesteryear.
The Details:
Ornate red script reads "McHenry's" above a diamond-shaped frame of feather-like scrollwork surrounding a red circular medallion with a white rooster illustration. Red text reads "Tail o' the Cock" with "IN THE VALLEY" and "ON RESTAURANT ROW" along the diamond edges. Smaller angled text lists Ventura Blvd. and La Cienega Blvd. addresses with phone numbers.
