The Tonga Room was located in San Francisco, California and first made waves in 1945 inside the Fairmont Hotel, dazzling guests with a tropical lagoon at its center, rain showers during the evening, and a floating bandstand that set the stage for unforgettable nights. With bamboo décor, carved tikis, and Polynesian cocktails served against a backdrop of cascading thunder and lightning, it became one of the most famous tiki escapes in America.
