Mobile's Swamp Angels took the field in 1887, carrying one of the most unforgettable names in Southern League history. Born from the bayou country of coastal Alabama, the name spoke to the muddy, unforgiving landscape surrounding the port city. Some clubs earn respect through winning, but this team earned something rarer, a name nobody ever forgot. Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
The Details:
Arched dark green distressed block text reads "SWAMP ANGELS" above a dark green alligator head wearing a baseball cap with a golden yellow halo. Flanking the mascot, smaller text reads "MOBILE, ALABAMA" on the left and "SOUTHERN LEAGUE" on the right. Dark green block text below reads "BASEBALL" with "Est. 1887" at the bottom.
