Stockton's Millers took the field in 1888 as part of the California League, representing a farming city where grain and grit defined daily life. Baseball clubs like this one gave small agricultural towns a sense of pride that extended far beyond the diamond. Stockton carried that identity long before California became synonymous with major league ball. Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
