Birmingham's Ironmakers took the diamond in 1887, born from the furnace boom that was reshaping Alabama into an industrial powerhouse. Playing in the Southern League, they carried the identity of a city forging itself from iron and ambition. Baseball and Birmingham grew up together, and this club was proof of that bond. Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
