Amsterdam's Rugmakers took the field in 1938 as part of the Canadian-American League, representing a small mill town in upstate New York with outsized pride. Minor league baseball was the soul of cities like Amsterdam, binding workers and families long before television changed everything. Some clubs lasted decades, but even the brief ones left their mark. Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
The Details:
White uppercase sans-serif text reads "AMSTERDAM," above large white cursive script reading "Rugmakers." A vintage cartoon illustration of a batter in mid-swing appears beside gold text reading "Est. 1938," with smaller gold uppercase text below reading "CANADIAN-AMERICAN LEAGUE" and "AMSTERDAM, NEW YORK."
