Syracuse Stars baseball club competed in the International Association beginning in 1878, representing a city already deep in its identity as a sporting town. Central New York embraced professional ball early, and the Stars carried that pride onto fields across the northeast. Some clubs from that era faded without a trace, but Syracuse kept showing up. Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
The Details:
Arched white text reads "SYRACUSE STARS" curving above a circular emblem, with "BASEBALL CLUB" curving below, flanked by small star icons. A distressed white circular badge at center contains baseball stitching motifs, laurel branches, and an ornate letter "S" above "1878." Curved text within the badge reads "INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION," "SYRACUSE," and "NEW YORK."
