Redondo Beach fielded the Wharf Rats in 1910 as part of the Southern California Trolley League, a Class D circuit where fans rode streetcars to the ballpark. Small-town minor league ball like this bound coastal California communities together long before the major leagues ever looked west. Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
